Can I import data from an existing program?
Video Vision Plus has a data import module which allows you to import existing data in a semi-automatic manner. You must first extract
the appropriate data from the existing program in a format that may be read and manipulated
in Excel. This data is then transferred into the appropriate pre-configured
template spreadsheets ready for import into Video Vision Plus. The module may be opened from the file menu in Video Vision Plus.
Library Vision, Costume Vision and Rental Vision do not currently feature automated
data import facilities. However, it may be possible to conduct a manual import
of your data for you. Please
get in contact to request a quote
for this service.
Can I start my own store (database) in the evaluation version before registering the program?
Upon registering Video Vision/Costume Vision/Library Vision/Rental Vision all data entered
into a store (database) created in the evaluation version is still available
for use after registering the program.
If I start inputting data on my home computer, can the database be transferred to my store computer when I am ready?
By default all programs work with Microsoft Access databases which can easily be transferred between computers.
Once you have finished inputting your data on your home computer the data
can be transferred to your store computer in a variety of ways - for instance
on a CD-R. Please use the
contact forms to request full instructions when you are ready to complete this process.
I don't want to use my credit card online - is there another way to purchase?

made by bank deposit/transfer or Moneygram transfer. Please use the
contact
forms to request the appropriate instructions for your preferred method of

Which operating systems can be used?
Video Vision, Costume Vision, Library Vision and Rental Vision are Windows based
(Mac and Linux operating systems are not supported) and versions are available
that are compatible with all versions of Windows from Windows 98 onwards. The
download page for each program version provides the full list of supported operating
systems for that version.
The programs require Microsoft Data Access Components to be installed on your
computer - most Windows installations have these components installed by default
but if not they can be downloaded free of charge from Microsoft.
I want to use an SQL Server database with the program
- is this possible?
By default Video Vision, Costume Vision, Library Vision and Rental Vision use
Microsoft Access databases - these are a convenient and simple to use solution suitable
for the vast majority of stores/organizations. All programs (and their add-on
modules) are however available in versions that are configured for use with SQL
Server databases should your store/organization prefer to use this type of database
solution instead. Certain large stores/organizations with a particularly large
number of customers/members and items or a high transaction volume may also benefit
from an upgrade to an SQL Server database. Please use the appropriate
contact
form to request advice and pricing for your situation and desired configuration.
Are the programs available in other languages?
Video Vision, Costume Vision, Library Vision and Rental Vision are currently all
available with interfaces in English and Spanish. Video Vision is also available
with the program interface in French.
The English program versions will work with a variety
of languages for data input and the receipt configuration options available allow
receipt terms to be configured so that receipts may be printed in virtually any
language.
User guides for Video Vision are available in both English and Spanish. User guides for Costume Vision, Library Vision and Rental Vision are currently only available in English.
An add-on module is also available allowing the main program interface to be translated
into other languages (this has an additional cost and the translation must be
provided).
Can different regional settings, sales taxes, currencies and date formats be used?
Video Vision, Costume Vision, Library Vision and Rental Vision are for the most part currency non-specific.
The receipt configuration wizard allows you to specify
the currency symbol (if any) to be printed on receipts.
The programs have flexible tax configuration options and the sales taxes applied
can be configured flexibly for most sales tax scenarios.
The programs support use of either a "." or "," decimal separator. Prices
may be entered with either a comma (e.g. 3,50) or a period (e.g. 3.50) to coincide with the regional settings configured in Windows.
The programs will work with a variety of Regional Settings, however they
will not work with dates which use a "." as the date
separator. For instance the Icelandic format of 27.11.2005 will not work
with the program.
If you have a short date setting which does not use the "/" separator,
in order to use the program you will need to change your regional settings
on your computer (from Windows Control Panel) so that the short date format uses a "\" separator.
If I purchase Video Vision Lite now, can I upgrade to Video Vision Plus at a later date?
Certainly! You will be able to use your existing Video Vision Lite database
and the switch over process is straight forward and if followed correctly
can be completed in a matter of minutes and will not result in any lack
of continuity to your business. If you hold a valid Video Vision Lite support entitlement at the time of upgrade
the upgrade price is simply the difference in price between
the two versions plus a $99 admin fee.
Please use the
contact
forms to request further instructions when you are ready to make the
upgrade.
